Ruby Romain" grapes are about twice the size of Kyoho grapes, making them one of the largest red varieties in Japan, and they are sweet, juicy, and easy to peel and eat. Although the volume of shipments is still small, Ishikawa Prefecture is expected to expand production of this grape in the future.

In order to create a nationally recognized brand, the farmers, Ishikawa Prefecture, and JA Group Ishikawa have formed an organization called the "Ruby Roman Club" to certify and ship only those grapes that have passed strict inspections and quality standards as "Ruby Romans.
