Udon have a long tradition in Japan and the most famous region for it might be Kagawa prefecture on Shikoku island which produces more than 20% of all Udon in Japan. Besides the major productions you will find regional Udon all over Japan. Sometimes they are only sold in the local area so that people travel from one area to the other to experience the different variations of Udon.
